Animations blog – my family camping

We have been making animations on our chromebooks in google slides. I really enjoyed it because I loved when me and my family camped and got to have roasted marshmallows.

My favourite part was when we roasted marshmallows and it was really tasty.

My story is about my Mom and Dad camping we brought some packs of marshmallows. My mom  and Dad invited some friends but they said they were coming late. One of my mom’s friends had some branches to make the fire and my dad’s friends bring some food,

Ki o rahi

Last Thursday Coach Chelsea came to our class as a visitor to teach us how to play a game called Ki o rahi. And we watched a video called the legend of ki o rahi. Coach Chelsea asked some questions about the video and a lot of students didn’t know the questions about the video except for Ion. Mrs Agnew was really proud of him because he remembered a lot of information and the people’s names.

And when the video ended Coach Chelsea showed us a game but I don’t really remember what it was called but I think it had something to do with two partners trying to tag them each time coach Chelsea says the names of what teams we are in. When Coach Chelsea says the name of us then we turn and try catching are partners. My partner was Olivia and she was a Taniwha. We also played a game named octopus. It was really fun but we got kinda mixed up in the first round but we got used to it and I didn’t get caught the whole time. It was really fun playing the games but when Coach was finished with the game we all said goodbye to Coach Chelsea.

Making a tree house

Last term it was very exciting when Mrs Agnew said we were going to build our very own tree huts. I brought a shoe box and an ice cream container to choose from to make the walls. I picked the shoe box because it was easier to make the door and windows with. I also brought ribbons and polystyrene marshmallows  to make the legs, arms and body of myself to put in my tree hut. It was also hard making the outfit which I made out of ribbons. I also brought 4 hard paper rolls but I couldn’t find them when I wanted to use them.

I got some help from Mrs Agnew for the ceiling and I asked Cosma for the pringle box. He said it was fine so I made it get stuck to the floor for my tree hut. I also used some material to make curtains for my window and I used some rope to make a ladder from school materials. Then I had some gems to make a lamp and some light and I used some

polystyrene marshmallows to make furniture and I also spread some more gems on my ceiling so it can shine brightly.

The next step was to paint my tree hut. First I painted my ceiling with the colour red. I got some help from Marii and Pio and a little help from Graziel. It also took a long time to paint it and cover the words on the box. When we were done making the ceiling we painted the walls with the colour orange. It was also hard because everyone was painting and it was a little crowded but it was really fun painting. I also painted the 2 pringle box’ that made my tree hut high up. The hard part was to get the painting out of your hands and face at the end.

The next step was the challenges. The first challenge is if you can make your tree hut stand still from the wind. When it was my turn I was really nervous that it would fall. Marii said it would be fine, so I laid my tree hut down but it fell. Mrs Agnew placed a wooden brick inside my tree hut and it kinda worked and it didn’t fall over. The next step was to see if our tree huts can handle four pairs of scissors on it but I was confident in this one because it held a whole wooden brick. So I placed four pairs of scissors  and it held it perfectly. The next challenge was if our tree hut can survive water being poured over it. My tree hut went first so Mrs yumal poured water on my tree hut and none got inside. I was so happy.

About me

Kamusta all my friends. My name is Zenalia. I am 8 years old and I go to St Patrick’s School. I live with my mom and dad and soon I will have a baby brother or sister. I am really happy that I will have another sibling because I’m always lonely at home but I’m still happy.

I am good at drawing and the other children like me. I enjoy playing with my friends. Sometimes I find Math difficult but this year I am going to try my hardest to find the answers. My goal this year is to speak out and share my ideas.

My family inspires me to always be happy and the best person I can be. I hope that Covid 19 goes away so we can go back and visit my family in the Philippines.
