Making a tree house

Last term it was very exciting when Mrs Agnew said we were going to build our very own tree huts. I brought a shoe box and an ice cream container to choose from to make the walls. I picked the shoe box because it was easier to make the door and windows with. I also brought ribbons and polystyrene marshmallows  to make the legs, arms and body of myself to put in my tree hut. It was also hard making the outfit which I made out of ribbons. I also brought 4 hard paper rolls but I couldn’t find them when I wanted to use them.

I got some help from Mrs Agnew for the ceiling and I asked Cosma for the pringle box. He said it was fine so I made it get stuck to the floor for my tree hut. I also used some material to make curtains for my window and I used some rope to make a ladder from school materials. Then I had some gems to make a lamp and some light and I used some

polystyrene marshmallows to make furniture and I also spread some more gems on my ceiling so it can shine brightly.

The next step was to paint my tree hut. First I painted my ceiling with the colour red. I got some help from Marii and Pio and a little help from Graziel. It also took a long time to paint it and cover the words on the box. When we were done making the ceiling we painted the walls with the colour orange. It was also hard because everyone was painting and it was a little crowded but it was really fun painting. I also painted the 2 pringle box’ that made my tree hut high up. The hard part was to get the painting out of your hands and face at the end.

The next step was the challenges. The first challenge is if you can make your tree hut stand still from the wind. When it was my turn I was really nervous that it would fall. Marii said it would be fine, so I laid my tree hut down but it fell. Mrs Agnew placed a wooden brick inside my tree hut and it kinda worked and it didn’t fall over. The next step was to see if our tree huts can handle four pairs of scissors on it but I was confident in this one because it held a whole wooden brick. So I placed four pairs of scissors  and it held it perfectly. The next challenge was if our tree hut can survive water being poured over it. My tree hut went first so Mrs yumal poured water on my tree hut and none got inside. I was so happy.
